What, in your pantry, can you donate to the food bank? With inflation and tough economic times, local food banks have been helping more people than they usually do. If you’ve been looking for something to motivate you to clean out your pantry, this might be the thing. Local food banks need donations and you want a tidy pantry. It sounds like a win-win to me.
We all have random food items that were purchased on accident, our family no longer likes them, or our tastes and styles have changed. Usually, those sit in our pantry until they expire. Instead of letting that food expire, you can donate it to your local food bank.
October is a great month to go through your freezer and fridge as well. Pick a time to pull everything out of your space, organize your food items by category, and only put back items that your family will use. Anything that is not expired and is still in good condition can be donated.
Donate to Schools:
Prepackaged snacks and drinks can be donated to schools as well as any school supplies you have floating around your house. Contact your local school for a detailed list of donation items that they need.
