Organizing a Homeschool Cupboard

I was so excited to organize this homeschool cupboard with a client recently that I totally forgot to take a Before picture. *Sigh* I get so excited I keep forgetting that part.  I got a partial ‘before’ shot.  Just imagine that the lower two shelves looked like this top shelf.

We took everything out and gathered more homeschool materials from around the house including this big red bin.  Next, we sorted by subject and then skill level.  We also made a pile of materials to sell because they weren’t working for this family’s needs.

When we were putting things back into the cupboard we put the most often used items lower with easy access.  My client wanted to be able to easily grab a complete activity and take it with them for something to do in Dr.’s waiting rooms.

Materials that they’ll be growing into are on the top shelf in harder-to-reach locations.  Later they can shift where things are according to their needs.  The blue fabric box holds smaller activities that we put in plastic bags.

They had a random side cut out so we put their flashcards and a bag of pencils & crayons for easy grab & go access.
