This overflow cupboard is used to hold extra supplies that the family uses often but doesn’t need right now. It was working pretty well, but a little tweaking made it much nicer.
Games
We sorted games by who would play them. Kids games on the left, older games, and games that take a long time on the right. Cleaning items were sorted together (plus extra gum). They grab the gum fairly often so we kept it in a very accessible location.
All the personal hygiene items were gathered together on one shelf. Because there were a lot of little items we used a clear bin for teeth and eye care.
Travel Products
The plastic bags on the left were filled with travel-size hygiene products (him, her, kids). Now when they are packing for a trip they have everything in one place. They can select the items they’ll need for that trip and everything else stays in the travel bag.
Do you have a travel ‘go bag’? A location where you keep everything you may need on a trip. It makes it really easy to select the items you need without searching or having to put liquids in smaller bottles each time. If you always use the same suitcase, you can also keep your travel-size containers in there.
