How to Organize Summer Photos

How many photos do you have on your phone from this summer?  When school starts, it’s a natural break in our routines.  Now is a great time to go through the summer photos you have on your phone and only save the best ones.

Focus on Small Chunks

It will be easier to avoid feeling overwhelmed.  Pick an activity or a month and go through the pictures.  Your first pass can be the obvious delete pictures.  You know, the ‘I took 10 pictures before the kid finally looked at me on the last one.’

The next pass can be looking for the best picture.  It can help to ask yourself these questions:

  • Would I pay to print this photo?
  • Could I frame this on a wall?
  • Would I put this in their photo book?
  • Does this picture mean anything to me?

It doesn’t matter what your answer is.  You decide what your priorities are.  Asking yourself questions (these or others) will help you take a step back and really evaluate what to keep.

Check Other Devices for Summer Photos

I’ve found some really cute pictures that I didn’t know about on my kid’s devices.  Whether you automatically upload photos to the cloud or you download them from your camera or phone onto your computer, remember to have a system for backing up your info.
